As you are aware, health care is experiencing a major shortage of licensed personnel in the United States, and, especially in the Northeast. Diman Regional School of Practical Nursing We, the faculty of Diman Regional School of Practical Nursing, share this concern.

Vision Statement
Diman Regional Technical Institute- School of Practical Nursing graduates will be occupationally-skilled workers whose academic, vocational/technical and workplace competencies will make them responsive to socioeconomic, technological and environmental challenges in a complex and changing society.

Mission Statement
 
The mission of Diman Regional School of Practical Nursing is to develop the unique potential of each learner by enabling students to acquire knowledge skills and dispositions that are needed to achieve the theoretical and technical skills needed to function as an entry level Licensed Practical Nurse.

LPN Exam
Applicants are required to take and meet required standards for the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) Version V (five).
 
Prior to taking the test, applicants are required to create an ATI account. They may do this by going to www.atitesting.com, clicking on Create New Account and following the screen prompts. After registering on this site, tester ID # will be displayed under Account Information. At this point applicants are able to print a copy of their ID#. This will serve as admission identification for scheduled test date. No tester will be admitted without bringing with them this ATI ID # and signed photo identification. Testers need to register only once for ATI ID. If you have tested through ATI previously your account is already established and you can access your code.
 
Test preparation products are available to applicants. Books may be purchased at the school for $45.00. You can also refer to the vendor’s website www.atitesting.com/ati_store/ for product/purchase information. There is an additional charge for these products and classes. Please note we will be using only version 5 of the test. 
  • PAID Applications must be received by the school prior to booking test date.
  • Pre-Entrance Examination Testing for the August 2014 full time day and August 2014 part time evening program of Diman Regional School of Practical Nursing will begin November 2013 and will continue until the class is filled.

Applicants requesting special accommodations are asked to notify the office prior to scheduling test.

TEAS V Preadmission Test Retakes for April and May
Applicants who have previously tested for the Program and did not meet the minimum standard for consideration on the TEAS V Test are allowed to retake sections.
 
Retest applicants must wait sixty days minimum between tests. 

Applicants who have not previously tested will not be admitted.

On the day of the retest, applicants should bring their ATI paper/pencil ID #, a photo ID and $45.00 test fee. Applicants without these items will not be allowed to retest.

Test cost increase
 Please note that effective August 1, 2013, testing for Diman Regional School of Practical Nursing will increase to $40.00. This price reflects an increase from Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) for the purchase of the TEAS V paper pencil test book.

PRACTICAL MATTERS: Diman School of Practical Nursing offers state-of-the-art learning tools
The School of Practical Nursing at the Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School just celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, but the facility in which the program is held is practically brand new. “It’s a beautiful building,” said Barbara Pitera, nurse administrator of the Diman Regional School of Practical Nursing. Widow of fallen Marine Cpl. Paul Fagundes strives to educate others on heroism of service members
Cindy Fagundes makes a point to talk to her two young children — Cazzian, 2, and Anya, 4 months — about their father on a daily basis.

Marine Cpl. Paul Fagundes passed away July 4, 2010, while attempting to rescue a pair of fellow Marines who were enjoying some time off and got caught in a riptide in the waters near Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. All three perished in the incident. Fagundes was 29 years old. Story continues.
